The Film Itself (5/5):
A feat that’s been 22-movies in the making, Avengers: Endgame is a movie that myself, my wife, and many other people have been looking forward to. Not only does it deliver a lot of questions that came up during the MCU saga, but it brings new questions to the table. It’s packed full with excitement, emotion, and curiosity from beginning to end. The performances from this star-studded cast were beyond exceptional, and overall left me and my wife looking forward to the new and upcoming phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Picture Quality (5/5):
For a movie that was shot on digital and, with the majority of the elements being computer generated, Avengers: Endgame had been finished with a 2K digital intermediate. So, with the 4K UHD release being an upscale over your standard Blu-ray release, the utilization of HDR10 was absolutely exceptional. While it’s not a revolutionary presentation for the format, the 4K UHD release of this movie is pretty top notch, and the finer details of the movie really stand out. With the improved sharpness and deeper colors, the textures of everything from the characters costumes to the various natural elements in the worlds that are visited absolutely shine. The black levels are extremely deep and a bit more polished in this release when comparing it to the Blu-ray counterpart, ultimately making this release a worthwhile upgrade.
Audio Quality (5/5):
Bundled with an English Dolby Atmos audio track, the 4K UHD release of Avengers: Endgame offers an insanely immersive audio experience for those that are setup with Atmos at home. Everything from the camera position in relation to the viewers to the roaring sound effects absolutely shine with this track. The dynamics of the track are insane, and the range of frequencies really do a number as the track rips through any home audio system. The dialogue is spoken cleanly, and the characters are able to be heard and understood without any need to manually adjust the volume levels whatsoever.
